The target patrons of this restaurant are local business people, tourists, and late night club hoppers who desire high quality hamburgers and hot dogs in a stimulating, authentic environment.

The project utilizes a simple layout that includes a main eating area on one side of a central banquette and a high eating and drinking counter on the other. Between the high counter and a wall covered by a blurred image of car traffic at night, people queue up to order takeout food. ......more

The existing building was designed by Eric Owen Moss. The program for the new office space is intended to communicate a commitment to cutting-edge work and feature the latest communication technology, including a complete internal post-production facility. The design team was asked to build an open-plan work space to house a staff of more than 110 people.

Ogilvy is a brand-name advertising agency and a leader worldwide. The company’s executives were looking to reinvent themselves with leading-edge design of new offices in Los Angeles. The large open-plan of this decidedly industrial space has been used as an advantage in the design program. Structural wood beams and large, plate-glass windows around the perimeter walls lend character and provide natural light throughout the office. Behind a front-facing, angled plate-glass wall, a perforated-metal tunnel known as “The Tube” dominates the entrance to the offices and is intended to serve as a gallery entry path to the rest of the building......more

With that in mind, the five star hotel in Cairo, appointed HBA to resurrect the royal tale through the renovation of one of its old restaurants to its former Ottoman glory. During the renovation of Saraya Gallery, HBA sought to keep the style of the Cairo restaurant authentic and similar to the original palace. Al Gezira palace was carefully designed to relay strong French influences all over the structure, carefully mixing European and Ottoman influences to result in an elegant, sophisticated yet comfortable scene. HBA wanted to bring back the palace's former glory and create wonderfully dramatic and intimate spaces throughout Saraya Gallery's grand high rooms.......more

In 2009, Los Angeles was its Guest of Honor and after a long selection process, JFAK was chosen to design the 20,000 square foot Guest of Honor Pavilion that would project Los Angeles’ identity for the nine days of the fair.

Innovation: The pavilion’s design created a public plaza where people could gather, interact, and trade ideas and visions. The larger theme that guided the design’s content was that of innovation – a theme common to L.A.’s artistic, cultural, commercial, and developmental history.

Atmosphere: Rather than stuffing the pavilion with books and facts about Los Angeles, the design created an ephemeral, atmospheric environment that itself communicated the spirit of this elusive, ever-changing City. The new brand promises a high-end restaurant experience at good value for money, while respecting today’s need for simplicity and speed. Because holyfields wants you to relax at your table rather than wait in a queue. The restaurant guest orders at one of ten touch screens in the entrance area, which show the menu in image and video format. He then takes an electronic signaller with him to his seat. This emits a signal when the food is ready to be collected from a central counter.
